BIRTH
TO 6 MONTHS
Bathtub Time-Out
Treat yourself to a soothing bath with your baby, making bath time
a cozy, relaxing playtime instead of a chore...As you enjoy the
water together, sing to your baby...Music creates intimacy and connectedness.
3
TO 6 MONTHS
Teaching
Opposites
Babies
are fascinated by changes you control. Take a walk through the house
to show your infant the wonder of opposites that you can work:
Full-Empty
Fill a cup (in the bathtub), then empty it.
On-Off
Turn
on a light, then turn it off.
6
TO 9 MONTHS
Hands
On
Babies enjoy exploring new textures that can go in their mouths,
too. Place a dab of yogurt, a spoonful of Jell-O, or some smooth
peanut butter on your baby's high chair and encourage finger painting.
9
TO 12 MONTHS
Balloon Games
Add one-fourth cup water to a small ballon and tie it closed with
a knot. Show your baby how it changes shape as you squeeze and wiggle
it.
