The Littlest Christmas Tree
The Littlest Christmas Tree by Janie Jasin
illustrated by Pam Kurtz

Do you ever wonder what it means to be really grown up? Do you ever look up at the stars and dream about your place in the world? If you do, then this little story is written just for you.

Written in simple prose that the smallest child can understand, The Littlest Christmas Tree tells the story of a tiny pine tree, waiting impatiently to grow tall enough to be chosen as a Christmas tree. As she watches the seasons change, she observes the beauty of her world and the gifts that nature brings - the sky, wind, sun and rain. Then it occurs to her: what will happen if she is never chosen as a Christmas tree? She considers the many other things she could become when she grows tall, such as a shelter for rabbits and squirrels, a cozy winter next for birds, or even a window frame for a family's home, and she offers a grateful prayer to her creator for the everyday blessings of her life and the many possibilities for her future.

The hardcover, 32-page gift book comes with a beautiful vellum dust jacket. It is now available read by the the author, with her singing the song that the story inspired, and additional Christmas music on an audiotape or on a CD packaged inside of the book. CD recording and audio are the same. Both are 30 minutes.

"This simply written children's book is anything but simple. It's a book with a complex message that will be enjoyed more upon reflection than at first glance. Enchanting words... vibrant illustrations."

page from book This holiday story, written by Janie Jasin, a motivation speaker from Victoria, MN is based on Janie's experience with a real seedling tree near her family's summer home in Wautoma, WI - a place known for its Christmas tree fields. Having dealt with her own father's death and her mother's lapse into dementia, she identified with a fragile seedling growing on the edge of a field. she wondered if she too would be able to grow strong given the problems in her life at that time. Would she be "chosen" to fill a special role in life? She wrote this story to help heal herself and in so doing has helped thousands of others.
